Масник Ігор
МА́СНИК Ігор (17. 09. 1930, м. Мостиська, нині Львів. обл. — 04. 03. 2024, м. Сілвер-Спрінґ, шт. Меріленд, похований у м-ку Бавнд Брук, шт. Нью-Джерсі, США) — хімік, фахівець з онкологічних хвороб. Дійсний член НТШ і УВАН. На еміграції від 1944: Австрія, Німеччина, США (від 1949). Здобув ступ. бакалавра (1953), магістра (1958) і д-ра (1962) з хімії у Чиказ. університеті. Служив в Армії США, закін. Школу командирів Генштабу Армії США. Працював у Нац. інституті раку, де очолював відділ міжнар. зв’язків, керував амер.-укр. та амер.-білорус. проектами з дослідж. і лікування раку щитовид. залози у дітей, опромінених внаслідок Чорнобил. катастрофи, та ліквідаторів. 1983–88 — голова парафіял. ради св. апостола Андрія Первозванного у м. Сілвер-Спрінґ. Мешкав у цьому місті. Диригент Меріленд. церк. хору, кер. молодіж. і чол. ансамблів бандуристів. Автор багатьох наук. публікацій з питань онкології. Редагував статті з біології для т. 3–5 «Encyclopedia of Ukraine» (Toronto; Buffalo; London, 1993).
