Мінкович Володимир

МІНКО́ВИЧ Володимир (21. 10. 1937, с. Либохора, нині Турків. р-ну Львів. обл.) — фізик, громадський діяч. Після 2-ї світової війни разом з родиною переїхав до США, мешкав у м. Міннеаполіс. Потім навч. у Мiннесот. університеті, де 1965 здобув ступ. д-ра мех. iнженерiї. Від 1966 — в Ілліной. університеті (Чикаґо): проф. мех. iнженерiї. 1984 увійшов до складу першої Управи Укр. н.-д. програми цього ВНЗу в Урбана-Шампейн. Наукові дослідження: роль неоднорiд. поверхневих шарiв у термодинам. процесах перенесення тепла та речовини; геотерм. теплообмiн і комп’ютерне моделювання теплообмiну. Гол. ред. «International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer» (від 1978). Брав участь у багатьох міжнар. наук. конф., зокрема й у СРСР. Жертвував кошти на розвиток науки в Україні. Член Товариства укр. інж. Америки та куреня Укр. пласт. союзу «Лісові чорти».
